Stranger
Than Fiction -- A Real Contender

When I saw Stranger than Fiction starring Will Ferrell, first
I said "Wow," then I started screaming "Four
Stars!" This magical romp has got De La Hoya written all
over it, and I DO mean Oscar.
Wait, what's that noise, you ask? Well it's either the deafening
sound of bees, or else the buzz has reached a fever pitch.
I'm going with the latter.
This comical mind-bender is one of the year's best films.
Let me reiterate- four stars. I tried to turn my hands but
they seemed to be locked in a fist-like position, with my thumbs
sticking straight up in the air. The visual effects were dazzling,
and so were the costumes. The smile on my face was so huge,
I almost exploded. Rarely do movies come along that change
the way we view movies forever, but this may be one of them.
Ferrell seems to have transitioned from his usual insanity
into this more subdued roll with remarkable ease. His stunning
performance is the fulcrum of a visual masterpiece crafted
together by director Marc Forster. Forster takes his vision
from conception, to baby, to full-grown tour de force, to senior
citizen, to death, to clawing it's way out of the grave, to
walking, flesh-eating cinema undead.
Truly, we are witnessing film history in this feast for the
senses. Do not miss it. If you miss it, will you ask someone
to firmly kick you in the back? We're talking about life-changing
art. And come awards season, don't be surprised if the term "greatest
movie ever made" gets thrown around with wild abandon.
But I won't say it. Oh, yes I will. This is not just the greatest
movie ever made, but the greatest thing ever done by anybody
ever.
